Searching For Herself

It may be summer, but Brittanys got another great one for us to enjoy:

Where am I?

I can run as fast as possible
But yet still stay in the same place
I can scream like a little child
But yet no one hears

Did I choose the wrong path a few miles back?

Wanting adventures
Can lead to mistakes
All I wanted was some fun
Now all I want is to stop and move on

Mistakes can’t be fixed
But the ones we make now can

Just by staying out of trouble
With a simple no it’s too late,
Or a no it’s not right
Can be more rewarding

Knowing I have listened to the voice inside of me
Will lead me to a peaceful place

Thinking I have lost a chance to do something different
Just leads into wonder

Is the road taken better then the road I left behind?

Passing signs that say…
Do not enter
No trespassing
Stop
Yield

But yet I have not seen any that say…
Rest stop ahead
Speed limit
Destination

Seeing people along the way
Leads me to hope
I am in the right place

But where am I again?

Im on a high way
With no limits
Never stopping to take a rest

Someone stop me
Before I run out of gas

Someone stop me
Before I crash

If I try to start a race
Stop
Tell me it’s not right
Make me look at the bright sky
Not just the hot cars passing by

I know you’re here for me
I just haven’t taken my eyes off the road
To see what I am missing

Pull me over
Before I get ran over
