Drivers Ed 101

As more and more ITC students start to get their permits, its a good time to talk about the dangers of using your cells phones while driving.

Theres a big new report out this week that talks about the dangers and compares driving while texting to drunk driving.

What is big news is the fact that even hands free devices are not safe to use while driving. The research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that there are “negligible differences” in accident risk whether you’re holding the phone or not. Hands-free devices may even increase the danger by making you think you are in control of your vehicle. The results show that its the lack of focus that causes most accidents and thats what happens when you are talking to someone.

Try this test to see just how distracting it can be.

And when you have some time I urge you to read this article, it could very well save your life and give you a whole new perspective on cell phone usage while driving.

This has been a public service announcement to all ITC students from S2S who likes to see you all ALIVE!
