Does this Make Cents?

This could also have been titled "Why Basic Math is Important" or "Always Check Your Phone Bill". Its part of a real conversation between a frustrated customer and a Verizon billing rep. who just doesn't get it:

I suppose there could be 2 easily mistakable ways of seeing that.

the verizion people are just mis-speaking and they arent understanding him, although he is correct about what they're saying.

What the Verizon people mean to say I suppose is that the cost is .002 dollars its not .002cents.if the cost is .002(% of $1) that means that the cost is .002 dollars/kb (assuming 1 dollar is equal to 100) Basically the Verizon people are right in the end, but not giving the correct reasons and he is right that theres a HUGE difference between .002 dollars and .002 cents (.002 cents= .00002 dollars)

I believe the real question here, is what happened to the old adage "the customer always knows best"? if I were him, I'd only pay 75 cents or what ever, based on the figures they told him and then switch services if they wouldn't listen.
