What a Day!
Today, Jan. 20th, 2009 will be remembered forever through history. It is that special and that important a day. Remember it well.
Barack Hussein Obama becomes the first black President of the USA. Millions at home and around the world will now look to him for guidance and leadership, because he also becomes leader of the Free World. Talk about pressure!
Some pictures of the day from the Washington Post.
Obamas inaugural speech here.
We had a reporter from the Post Standard at ITC to watch us watch the inauguration. She seemed to be more concerned about the technical hitches than in what the students had to say.
More news from other schools in the area.

I hate Journalists. I literally just hate them, they can't do anything without bending facts, I doubt one of them could tell about a trip to the grocery store without encountering monsters or some amazing challenge.
We didn't have internet issues, we just had people not using the district's IPTV. And any other lag goes along with the fact it's a live broadcast... And 3/4 of America was Watching...
I spoke with her for at least 20min about the balloting we did etc. Of course none of that was mentioned.
Guess its more newsworthy to talk about a "dimly lit geometry classroom" and wireless issues.
That article was ridiculously stupid. That article wasn't even necessary. lol at Jake's comment.
Nice comment by someone about the article:
As a graduate of a city high school and a current resident of the inner city, I find this article offensive to city schools. Yes we all know that city schools are sometimes not equipped with the best technology available. And yes we all know that city schools don't have the best reputation. But I think that credit is due to those who work at and attend the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central. City-school students sometimes have the reputation of not caring about what's going on in the real world, and these students care about the inauguration of our newest president.
As well as credit is due to those who are employed at the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central. They do their very best to give these students the best opportunities and some of them go above and beyond their duties as teachers. Of course there's a chance of the screen going blank. As one of the most watched events of the year, do you know how many hits a website airing the inauguration would receive? So these "Internet errors" were probably due to the overload of people on the internet this morning.
The point of this article should have been to praise our inner-city you adults for being interested in the inauguration of our country's president. Not to bash the resources that the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central.
"Because classrooms at Tech Central don't get cable and Internet errors plagued most classrooms during the inauguration, most students listened to a radio broadcast of the inauguration over loudspeakers."
I dont seem to remember the radio thing happening is that true?
Quite true..we had the radio from the office coming in to our room thru the speakers.
